Japanese sake is loved throughout the world now.
Hiroshima hostel EN is one of the few guest houses where you can reach the izakaya (sake & dining bar) within a 5-second walk from your room.
We take advantage of it and let more people from all over Japan and all over the world know the culture of Hiroshima, Hiroshima-produced foods and local sake.
Hiroshima is a home to the oyster, conger eel and small sardine.
But there is much more than that!
Wild game meat from Sera, lemons from Setouchi, konnyaku from Yuki, octopus from Mihara and so on…
We offer them to you so that you can get a taste of all of Hiroshima.
Hiroshima has Saijyo town (Higashi-hiroshima city) which is called the “Sake town”, it is fittingly named.
Sake brewing flourishes in Hiroshima through the ages.
Sake is a versatile drink and that is the most interesting aspect of Sake.
Some are made in a seaside town, some in the city, and others in the mountain area.
Each Sake’s character or taste decides what kind of cuisine goes with it.
Let’s spend a comfortable time with delicious Sake thinking about their variety of characters and the story lines behind them.
You can also enjoy “Kaigun-san no Baku-shu” (navy beer) from Kure which has very long brewing history among Japanese craft beer breweries and “Miyajima Beer” whose brewery will be in operation soon at Miyajima.
